was shot and killed on July 19, 2015 following a traffic stop by University of Cincinnati Police Officer Ray Tensing. Body camera footage disputed police report accounts following DuBose’s death. Tensing was indicted on murder charges but in June of 2017 a mistrial was declared after a jury was unable to reach an unanimous decision.

was found dead in her jail cell on July 13, 2015 in Waller County, Texas. She was arrested on July 10, 2015 after being pulled over for a traffic violation. On December 21, 2015, a grand jury in Texas declined to issue any indictments in relationship to Sandra Bland’s death.
